Privacy Policy
Tide Front Supply, LLC operates tidefrontsupply.com. This policy describes what personal information the site collects, why, and who else handles it.
1. Information you give us
- Account — email address, password (stored only as a hash, never in readable form), and optionally your name and phone number.
- Orders — shipping address, recipient name, contact email and phone, and what you ordered.
- Payment — card details are entered directly with our payment processor. We never receive or store your full card number; we hold a token, the card brand, and the last four digits.
- Messages — anything you send us by email or through the chat widget.
- SMS consent — if you opt in to order texts, we record the number, the fact and time of consent, and the IP address it came from, because consent has to be evidenced.
2. Information collected automatically
- IP address, browser and device characteristics, pages viewed, and referring pages.
- Cart and session identifiers stored in cookies so a cart survives a reload.
- Diagnostic data when something errors.
3. How we use it
To take and fulfil orders, process payments, provide support, send transactional email and (with consent) SMS, prevent fraud and abuse, understand how the site is used, fix faults, and meet tax, accounting, and other legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
4. Service providers
These process personal information on our behalf, only as needed to provide their service:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Stripe | Payment processing |
| Vercel | Website hosting |
| Neon | Database hosting |
| Cloudflare | Image and file storage, content delivery |
| Resend | Transactional email |
| EasyPost | Shipping labels and tracking |
| PrintNode | Remote printing of shipping labels and packing slips |
| PostHog | Product analytics and session replay |
| Google Analytics | Website analytics |
| Sentry | Error monitoring |
| Crisp | Customer support chat |
This list describes the providers currently in use. Every integration on this site is enabled by configuration, so a provider that is not configured receives nothing; if we enable another, this list is updated before it starts receiving data.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our terms, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or to a successor in a merger or sale of the business.
5. Cookies and analytics
Cookies keep you signed in, keep your cart, remember preferences, and record that you have passed the age acknowledgement. Analytics and monitoring services collect device, usage, and diagnostic data.
Session replay is used to diagnose faults in the ordering process. Form inputs are masked by default and elements displaying personal information are marked for masking, so addresses, emails, and payment fields are not captured in readable form.
You can control cookies through your browser, but disabling them may break the cart, checkout, or sign-in.
6. SMS
Order texts are sent only if you opt in at checkout. If you opt in we record your number and the fact and time of consent. We do not share your number with third parties for marketing, and consent is not a condition of purchase.
SMS delivery is not currently enabled. Ticking the box records your consent; no message is sent until we turn the service on, at which point the provider carrying it will be added to the list above. Reply STOP to stop messages or HELP for help once they begin.
7. Security
Passwords are hashed with Argon2. Traffic is encrypted in transit. Access to production data is limited to those who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations. Order and transaction records are retained after an account closes where the law requires it. When information is no longer needed we delete or de-identify it.
9. Your rights
Wherever you live, you may ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you and where it came from.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Delete information, subject to records we are required to keep.
- Provide a copy in a portable format.
California residents. California law gives residents rights to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of; the other rights are honoured as described above. We treat requests from California residents on these terms whether or not we currently meet the thresholds at which the California Consumer Privacy Act applies to a business.
We honour Global Privacy Control and similar browser signals where we receive them.
To make a request, email support@tidefrontsupply.com from the address on your account. We may need to verify who you are before acting.
10. Do not send health information
Please do not send us medical or health information. We are a supplier of laboratory reagents, not a healthcare provider, and we cannot advise on health matters. Anything you send that describes personal health information is handled under this policy but is better not sent at all.
11. Children
The site is not directed to anyone under 21 and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Links to other sites
We link to external sites, including published research. Their privacy practices are their own.
13. Changes
We may update this policy. The version published here is the one in force.
